國民黨總統參選人朱立倫22日至中壢華勛地區，為黨籍立委孫大千站台造勢。朱立倫說，外界對國民黨不分區立委席次存有疑義，但都是一時之選，也希望桃園市從現任6席能再增加不分區的前縣長吳志揚1席。
朱立倫以前縣長之姿回中壢站台，他感到格外親切，尤其很多自己的長輩，在最辛苦、最艱難的時候站出來相挺，內心很感動。他強調參選不是為了個人，而是為了台灣和國家。
距離投票只剩54天，朱立倫說只有他和國民黨當選，才能確保兩岸和平發展合作，創造雙贏，台灣必須與全世界接軌，要與美、日合作外，更要加入TPP，也要與大陸、東協合作，加入RCEP。
朱立倫說，國民黨當選才不會走回頭路，也是最包容各族群的政黨。不分區立委名單中，年輕的才23歲，較年長的6、70歲，有本土及都會區代表，也有不同派系和專業人選。有人說217位中央委員中，有60幾人反對，這就是民主。
他說，民主不是一言堂，民進黨卻自成「英派」，國民黨是多元的政黨，彼此有意見，最後卻能包容、團結。國民黨九合一大選慘敗，原因是很多鄉親長輩沒出來投票，這次不分區提名吳志揚，正希望桃園增加1席立委。
